Hytera Obtains Official Order From Philippine Police for Wireless Devices Hytera Obtains Official Order From Philippine Police for Wireless Devices

(Yicai Global) Jan. 2 -- A joint venture between Hytera Communications and its Philippine partner Contel Communications has won an order from the Philippine National Police and will provide wireless communication devices for law enforcers including hand-held terminal products and mobile transceivers.

The JV received the letter of acceptance and purchase order from the police several days ago, the Shenzhen-based private communication device supplier announced yesterday.

The two projects are worth PHP302.5 million (USD5.83 million) and encompass wireless communication interphone terminal products such as hand-held terminal products and mobile transceivers, the announcement stated.

The Philippines is a major member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, so these two projects will help the firm improve its competitiveness and influence in the country and produce a demonstration effect on expanding nearby regional markets, the announcement added.

Hytera started cooperating with the Philippine National Police in 2017 and the JV began to provide wireless communication devices and terminal products for the police, winning a bid to supply equipment to the Philippine National Police for USD12.3 million in June 2017, Yicai Global reported at the time.
