Many carmakers across Europe and North America are now struggling with the rise of Covid-19, which is subsiding in China. Volkswagen, BMW, Toyota Motor, For Motor, Tesla, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and other firms had shut down more than 100 factories combined as of yesterday.

The outbreak will impact both supply and demand and production and sales could tumble by as much as 16 percent as a result of the virus, according to data published by RBC Capital Markets on March 16. If the US does not proactively attempt to control Covid-19, the figure could rise as high as 20 percent, it added.
