(Yicai Global) Sept. 20 -- Huawei Technologies has launched its new flagship smartphone series, the Mate 30, which its consumer business head said is the world's first and only handset to combine fifth-generation mobile and system-on-a-chip technologies.
The Mate 30 is the first phone to carry Huawei's in-house Kirin 990 processor, Richard Yu told Yicai Global yesterday at the launch event in Munich, Germany. Shenzhen-based Huawei kicked off pre-sales in China today and it will begin deliveries on Sept. 26.
Integrating the 5G modem with the SoC boosts the handset's energy efficiency and improves its cooling capacity.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G can download data 25 times faster than 4G phones, and twice as fast as its 5G peers, said Yu. Due to the use of a graphene technology, the handset will stay 40 percent cooler than its rivals after a one-hour phone call, he added.
