(Yicai) Sept. 5 -- The Mate 60 Pro, Huawei Technologies’ first satellite phone, supports fifth-generation network and long-term evolution baseband signal, according to a media outlet under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The Mate 60 Pro uses Kirin 9,000s chips as shown in the smartphone’s configuration parameters. The handset’s download speed is between 500 and 600 million bits per second, with a maximum of over 1,000 Mbps, far exceeding the fourth-generation network download speed of 100 Mbps, according to users’ feedback, the weekend report of People’s Posts and Telecommunications News showed.
Huawei launched the Mate 60 smartphone series on Aug. 29, at least half a month before the rumored release date. The new phones were sold out in just two days. The delivery of the Mate 60 phones is expected to be completed before Sept. 17 as shown on Huawei's official website.
This was a successful return of Huawei's 5G mobile phones after the company was cut off from supply and production, the report noted, citing an industry insider.
Huawei’s rival Apple will release its new flagship product this month. The upcoming iPhone will have major upgrades, including new colors, better battery performance, faster speed, and a possible long-awaited switch to type-C charger port.
