(Yicai Global) Dec. 5 -- As mobile payment technology finds wider use among consumers, security risks involved has become the latest focus of the market. China's electronic equipment and smartphone giant Huawei Technologies Inc. is discussing with officials to install built-in identity information in mobile phones, a senior company official revealed. The users will be able to make payments more safely thanks to this technology, the company claims.

Zhang Ping'an, director and president of software product line at Huawei, made the above statement at an industrial forum. As a smartphone company, Huawei should meet necessary requirements for personal security and privacy in the financial area while considering offering financial services via mobile phones, said Zhang.

The security technologies that can be applied include fingerprint, voiceprint, vein recognition sensor and other technologies. Huawei holds talks with Chinese security officials about fitting identity information in mobile phones, which would enable users to verify identity at any given location, Zhang disclosed.
