(Yicai Global) May 19 -- China’s biggest smartphone maker Huawei Technologies had shipped a total 15 million handsets with fifth-generation networking capabilities worldwide as of the end of the first quarter, the firm said at its Global Analyst Summit today.
The Shenzhen-based firm has 19 5G devices priced between CYN2,000 (USD281) and CNY16,000, Shawn Sheng, vice president of Huawei’s handset product line, said at the event.
Huawei had a 33.2 percent share of the global 5G handset market in the first quarter, he added, saying the figure shot up to more than half in the domestic market.
