Huadian Wins Turbine Contract for Guangdong Offshore Wind Farm Huadian Wins Turbine Contract for Guangdong Offshore Wind Farm

(Yicai Global) Aug. 10 -- Huadian Heavy Industries has won a CNY1 billion (USD150 million) contract to install wind turbines and build infrastructure facilities at a 300-megawatt offshore wind farm in China's southern Guangdong province.

Three Gorges New Energy handed out the contract, which includes the foundation construction for the 38 blades as well as actual installation, the Beijing-based firm said in a statement.

The contract will run until November 2019 and its value is equivalent to more than 20 percent of Huadian Heavy Industries' operating income for last year.

The company has actively expanded into offshore wind farm installation in recent years. Last November, it announced a successful bid for foundation construction and installation operations at a 300 MW offshore wind farm project in Tangshan, off the Bohai Rim coast in northern China.
