Lau is a lawyer qualified to practice in Hong Kong and in England and Wales with 20 years’ experience in corporate finance and listing-related matters.
She will now work alongside Lin Shi assessing listing applications for the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, which was the world’s top IPO market last year, raising USD40 billion in total.
Eugene Yeoh Kim-Loong, the former joint head of the HKEX’s IPO vetting team, was charged last month with accepting more than HKD9.15 million (USD1.18 million) in bribes during his tenure between June 2017 and April 2019.
