(Yicai Global) Sep. 13 -- A Japanese-Chinese joint venture called Neusoft Reach Automotive Technology Shenyang will supply Honda Motor's two units with battery packs for new energy vehicles.

Neusoft Reach,a JV between Japan's Alpine Electronics and China's software engineering firm Neusoft Group, has received notices from Guangzhou's Guangqi Honda Automobile and Wuhan's Dongfeng Honda Automobile that it will become their energy storage supplier,Liaoning province-basedNeusoft Groupsaid in a statement yesterday. The demand is expected to reach the value of CNY2 billion (USD292 million).

The order is the latest step in the strategic partnership reached between Neusoft Reach and Honda last year, which means that Neusoft Reach's business in battery packs will enter mass production, the statement added.
