(Yicai Global) Dec. 13 -- Hengli Petrochemical's project in the northeastern China port
city of Dalian where the company is based will start production at the end of this week and have an annual crude oil processing capacity of 20 million tons.
All preparations for refining are ready, and operations will start on Dec. 15, the private petrochemical giant said in a statement yesterday.
The project is built to yield 9.92 million tons of gasoline, diesel and aviation-grade kerosene, and 4.5 million tons of raw hydrocarbon material for polyester production.
The complex will also produce 1.62 million tons of chemical light oil, 970,000 tons of benzene, 640,000 tons of liquefied gas, 530,000 tons of lubricating base oil, 520,000 tons of sulfur, 430,000 tons of polypropylene, 350,000 tons of acetic acid, 130,000 tons of heavy aromatic hydrocarbons and other chemical products.
The company's main business will extend from the current polyester chemical fiber, and other product areas to upstream refining, taking the lead in the sector to achieve collaborative operation of the entire industrial chain starting from crude oil and proceeding through to polyester, it added.
