(Yicai Global) Jan. 19 -- Hangzhou Innover Technology Co. [SZ:002767] has produced and installed its first Internet of Things-based intelligent gas meter for trial operations in Shanghai.
The successful installation of the intelligent gas meter shows the company, which is headquartered in eastern China's Zhejiang province, has mastered the key technologies to build a smart gas business platform based on low-power-consumption cellular IoT, Hangzhou Innover claimed yesterday.
The intelligent gas meter uses background and cellular-based NarrowBand IoT communication technologies to collect data, report incidents and carry out other functions, the company said.
The gas meter maker noted that NB-IoT works well for high consumption users who pay frequently and value safety monitoring, making it suitable for non-residential applications. The technology's advantages include low power consumption, remote control and monitoring capabilities, low cost, wide coverage and ease of deployment. This technology caters to the gas industry's current and future management needs.
