(Yicai Global) Oct. 12 -- LeDian, a powerbank sharing platform based in China’s eastern city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has closed operations after running for just six months, online media outlet TechWeb reported.

“LeDian will cease business operations, please ensure to promptly withdraw your remaining balance,” the company said on Oct. 11, adding that it has taken back all of its charging devices.

The firm set up shop in March this year as a self-service smart charging terminal, placing 200 powerbanks at bus stops, shopping centers, entertainment venues and hotels in Hangzhou.
