(Yicai Global) June 10 -- A Hainan Airlines flight from Sanya to Beijing has come back to southern China after the windshield of the more than nine-year-old Boeing 737-800 started cracking.

No one got hurt as the crew of HU7380 decided to return to Sanya Phoenix International Airport in a bit less than an hour after taking off at 4.48 p.m. yesterday as the windscreen in front of the co-pilot started showing signs of damage, the airline announced on Weibo on the same day. It quickly arranged another plane to take the passengers to Beijing by midnight.

This is not the first time that a Chinese airline has had troubles with windshields. In May 2018, Sichuan Airlines's 3U8633 landed in Chengdu after the windscreen of Airbus A319 broke so that the co-pilot was nearly sucked out of the plane.
