(Yicai Global) Sept. 28 -- Shenzhen Balder Technology Co., an internet company specialized in developing competitive mobile games, has bagged tens of millions of yuan in financing, with Shenzhen Guozhong Venture Capital Management Co. among investors, media outlet Jiemian News reported.

The company's core staff come mostly from the world's largest gaming firm, Shenzhen-based Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700], and boast extensive experience in the research and development of mobile games.

"Balder will focus on researching and developing competitive MMORPGs (massive multiplayer online role-playing games) based on our experience and strengths," said founder Wang Yaohui.

Guozhong Venture Capital opted to invest in the company because its founders and core members are from Tencent's Game Research Studio, and have been engaged in MMORPGs for many years, said Yang Yang, technology, media and telecoms investment director at the venture capital firm.
