(Yicai Global) Oct. 20 -- Guangzhou's Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee yesterday put into service the Sunshine House Rentals Platform, a municipal house rentals information service platform, Southern Metropolis Daily News reported yesterday.

Tenants, landlords, branded residences and neighborhood administrations can register on the platform to receive the information about apartments available for rent as the city looks to boost transparency and legal protection in property rentals.

Personal credit and residential details of tenants, landlords, and management of branded residences will be reviewed during the registration process in order to ensure trustworthiness and reliability.

Once a tenant signs a tenancy agreement on the platform, his or her tenancy information will be communicated to the authorities, the Bureau of Migrant Services, education and public accumulation funds, so as to facilitate public services such as residency certificates, school enrollment and applications for public rental houses.

Users are only able to access the platform through its website or on Android mobile operating systems, with no app available on Apple Inc.'s [NASDAQ:AAPL] iOS yet. The Guangzhou Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee plans to launch an iOS and WeChat version in the future.
