(Yicai Global) Dec. 18 -- Hong Kong and Macau residents seeking to buy a home in Guangzhou only need to present their Hong Kong or Macau identification card and a travel permit to purchase one housing unit, provided they own no other property in the Chinese mainland, Guangzhou Daily reported, citing the city's property registration center.

They also need to submit proof of study, work and residence in the mainland in addition to the other documents needed to purchase housing.

Guangzhou lifted the requirements of one-year local work and residence for foreigners and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents wishing to buy a local dwelling last year, and so this latest measure shows a further softening of policy.
