[SHA: 601633] is unable to confirm whether it will form a joint venture with Bayerische Motoren Werke AG [ETR:BMW] (BMW) in China for now, as Great Wall is itself verifying relevant matters and will disclose these publicly once details are forthcoming, the Securities Times reported today, citing staff from the Chinese carmaker's securities and publicity departments.

Great Wall and BMW are selecting a site for their joint venture in China and preliminary results will emerge late this year, indicated a person charged with attracting investment with the management committee of Changshu Economic and Technological Development Zone in China's southeastern Jiangsu province. Their collaboration started four to five months ago, the source said.
