(Yicai) Dec. 19 -- A number of listed companies based in China's Gansu province told Yicai that their operations were not affected by yesterday's 6.2-magnitude earthquake that hit the northwestern province.

Gansu Energy Chemical's mines are mainly around the cities of Lanzhou and Baiyin, so the earthquake had no impact on their operation, the coal firm told Yicai today. Shares of Gansu Energy Chemical [SHE: 000552] closed 1.3 percent down at CNY3.06 (43 US cents) in Shenzhen today.

A deadly magnitude 6.2 earthquake with a hypocenter depth of 10 kilometers struck Jishishan county in Gansu's Linxia Autonomous Prefecture at 11.59 p.m. yesterday. Some 111 people have been confirmed dead so far.

Titanium dioxide producer CNNC Huayuan Titanium Dioxide told Yicai that its production bases are in Baiyin and Jiayuguan cities, far away from the earthquake epicenter, and that it received no report about any impact on local factories. The firm's stock [SHE: 002145] ended 0.5 percent down at CNY4.40 in Shenzhen today.

"Our company is located in Hui county, under the administration of Longnan, 350 km away from the epicenter, so there was no significant impact,” Jinhui Liquor told Yicai. "Our investigation also confirmed that production and operation were unaffected." The distiller's shares [SHA: 603919] closed today's trading in Shanghai unchanged at CNY23.86 (USD3.34).

Dairy farming and production company Zhuangyuan Pasture told Yicai that it has two pastures in Linxia, but neither its equipment nor the livestock were affected by the earthquake. Zhuangyuan Pasture [SHE: 002910] fell 0.6 percent to CNY10.91 in Shenzhen today.

Carbon product maker Fangda Carbon New Material and petrochemical equipment manufacturer LS Heavy Equipment were not affected by the earthquake, Shanghai Securities News reported, citing sources at the two companies.

Shares of LS Heavy Equipment [SHA: 603169] inched up 0.2 percent to CNY6.09, while those of FangDa Carbon [SHA: 600516] fell 1.5 percent to CNY5.44 in Shanghai today.
