(Yicai Global) July 28 -- Jia Yueting's shares in Leshi Internet Information and Technology Corp. [SHE:300104], which has been trapped in a capital shortage crisis, and its parent company, Leshi Holding (Beijing) Co., have all been frozen, Leshi Internet said yesterday.

Jia, the founder of firms, used money he borrowed to fund Leshi Mobile Intelligent Technology, and this led to the freeze, Leshi Internet said.

Leshi Internet said that Jia is its controlling shareholder, but after recent events it is possible another party will claim that title.

The Shanghai High People's Court froze USD183 million (CNY1.237 billion) on deposit at the bank accounts of Jia Yueting, his wife and the Leshi group of companies on June 29.

This made Leshi's money issues worse, and some vendors and employees went unpaid. Jia resigned as Leshi Internet's chairman on July 6 while withdrawing from its board. He no longer holds any post at Leshi Internet.

Leshi Internet was listed on the growth enterprise market (GEM) in 2010 and became the first online video site to be listed on the A-share market. It is the only listed entity among Leshi companies.
