Former ZTE Senior Manager Zeng Becomes Unigroup's Vice Executive President of Global Operations

(Yicai Global) April 27 -- Zeng Xuezhong, the former vice executive president of Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corp. [SHE: 000063; HKG: 0763] (ZTE Corp.), recently joined integrated circuit manufacturer Tsinghua Unigroup.

An article published by Unigroup on April 22 said that Zeng has attended corporate activities as its vice executive president for global operations. The article did not say what businesses he is responsible for.

Zeng served ZTE Corp. for nearly 20 years and headed various businesses including product sales and innovation. The Shenzhen-based company said on April 5 that for personal reasons, Zeng was resigning on the spot as its vice executive president.

ZTE's global shipments of smartphones declined sharply in 2016 and were down 36.5 percent year-on year, a report issued by market-research firm IDC shows.
