(Yicai Global) Oct. 16 -- Dr. Bo Liefeng, a senior scientist in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), has recently joined JD Finance as principal scientist for its AI lab, the company announced today.
JD Finance also first disclosed details of its AI lab, saying it will integrate industry-leading technological innovations and core algorithmic capabilities to explore domestic fintech needs and scenarios and promote the seamless application of AI technologies.
The lab will conduct research in image recognition, speech recognition, man-machine dialog and other fields, and it will work with top US universities and research institutions to develop cutting-edge AI technologies.
Zhou Bowen, an authoritative scientist in the AI field, also recently joined JD to take charge of its AI platform and research-related business.
Before joining JD Finance, Bo worked at Amazon headquarters in Seattle as principal scientist. He led a team researching basic algorithms and project landing for Amazon Go's unstaffed store. Amazon Go is one of the most revolutionary innovations in the retail industry. It created a new grab-and-go shopping experience using computer vision, deep learning and sensor fusion technologies.
Bo received his PhD from Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology in 2007. He was a post-doctoral researcher successively at the Toyota Technological Institute at the University of Chicago and the University of Washington. His research has encompassed many fields: machine learning, depth learning, computer vision, robot and natural language processing.
