(Yicai) Aug. 8 -- Flights restarted at Ningbo Lishe International Airport this afternoon after they were suspended yesterday in the wake of a cargo plane sliding off the runway after landing.
The aviation hub in eastern China announced that it would resume flights from 4 p.m. today.
The plane was a 25-year-old Boeing 747 owned by US carrier Kalitta Air. It was flying from Anchorage to Ningbo, Yicai learned.
There were no casualities and all crew members were safely evacuated, the airport said earlier today, adding that no fire or smoke was seen coming from the plane. Official agencies are looking into the incident.
The airport, situated in the economically developed province of Zhejiang, has routes to destinations including Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore, Bangkok, Jeju Island, and Budapest.
