First Expo Goods Are on Their Way to Shanghai Two Months Before CIIE First Expo Goods Are on Their Way to Shanghai Two Months Before CIIE

(Yicai Global) Sept. 4 -- Exhibitors from around the world have sent the first batches of products to be displayed at the second China International Imports Expo in Shanghai, held in about two months.

Products from Italy, Vanuatu, and the Czech Republic have departed their home countries for Shanghai, the CIIE bureau said in a statement yesterday. The CIIE will be held from Nov. 5 to No. 10.

Pharsmart sent its products from Italy, expecting them to arrive in Shanghai on Oct. 10 and participate in the medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition area. Over 120 Italian firms have signed up to showcase their products in fields such as food and automobiles, ranking second among all countries, according to the bureau that did not disclose which country is the No. 1.

Chinese logistics firms have prepared for the CIIE in their own ways. Shanghai's COSCO Shipping Lines has designed a cold chain solution that follows the cargo through customs clearance in order to provide exhibitors with a comprehensive logistics service, chilled from door to door.

Crystal and food products left the Czech Republic via railway to be loaded into a container ship in Germany's Hamburg on Sept. 8 and reach Shanghai exactly one month after. From January to July, bilateral trade between China and the European nation rose 12.3 percent from a year earlier to USD9.4 billion, according to official data.

Vanuatu's wines, coffee beans, mineral water, and other products were also prepared to be shipped to China from the South Pacific Ocean nation.
