(Yicai) Sept. 13 -- The inaugural Cambridge China Business Forum was successfully held at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, aiming at building a dialogue platform to boost economic and trade cooperation between China and the United Kingdom.

Themed Bridging the Future, Innovating for Excellence, the forum explored cutting-edge ideas across various industries and fostered equal dialogue, with a focus on promoting international trade, technological innovation, and investment between China and the UK. It was held on Sept.11 with the support from the Cambridge Judge Business School and the UK Chinese Culture Association.

The Cambridge China Business Forum brought together prominent companies and institutions that play significant roles in China-UK trade and international cooperation, including Alibaba Group, BYD, Changan Automobile, China Telecom, Nio, the China-Britain Business Council, and the Institute of Directors.

For example, the IOD and CBBC helped facilitate business collaboration and strategic dialogue between China and the UK, China Telecom advanced digital cooperation between the two countries through its global communications network, and BYD and Nio used their smart electric vehicle technologies to promote innovative collaboration in the automotive industry.

The forum will hopefully facilitate in-depth exchanges and cooperation between innovative talents and industry experts from China and the UK, contributing to the advancement of technological innovation, strengthening economic ties, and fostering friendship between the two countries, said Yu Ge, founder and chairman of the organizing committee of the Cambridge China Business Forum.

China and the UK have many areas of mutual opportunities, such as financial services, retail, automobiles, renewable energy, new energy vehicles, vocational education, and healthcare, said Steven Lynch MBE, chairman of the loD China Group. "We don't purely want to focus on our differences and difficulties," he added.

It is important to strengthen the dialogue between Chinese and UK business communities to enhance mutual understanding and find development paths in line with common interests, said Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, chairman of the CBBC. He attributed China's impressive rapid development to Chinese firms' continuous learning and innovation.

Li Li, chairperson of the UK Chinese Culture Association and member of the Cambridge China Business Forum's advisory committee, expressed anticipation for further cooperation between the two countries to inject new momentum into the long-term development of China-UK relations.
