Finance Stocks Revive China's Mainland Bourses After Morning Dip

(Yicai Global) Dec. 17 -- Financial stocks led a rebound in China's mainland stock markets this morning after the region's three main indexes opened down and dived in early trading.

The Shanghai Composite Index clawed up to 2,593.98 at the lunch break, basically tying the opening figure after CNY64.2 billion (USD9.3 billion) worth of shares traded hands. The Shenzhen Composite Index closed down 0.57 percent at 7,586.46 following a 1.5 percent trough, with a trading volume of CNY84.6 billion.

The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, closed down 0.9 percent at 1,298.61. It fell as much as 1.91 percent during the session, with traders swapping CNY26.7 billion worth of shares.
