(Yicai Global) May 3 -- Two units of China Energy Engineering Corporation, better known as Energy China, will join hands to build a USD3.6 billion refinery in Pakistan with a daily processing capacity of 100,000 barrels of crude.
Guangdong-based Electric Power Design Institute will take a 60 percent stake in the joint project, according to a statement, while China Gezhouba Group International Engineering will make up the rest.
The pair has signed an engineering procurement construction deal with the project's owner Falcon Oils for completion in three years' time.
The contractor is also responsible for the construction of the auxiliary oil transport pipeline, storage tanks as well as a thermal power plant for the facilities.
The project is located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan, a region adjacent to Afghanistan.
