(Yicai) March 3 -- Dongfeng Nissan, a joint venture between Chinese carmaker Dongfeng Motor and Japanese auto giant Nissan Motor, has unveiled several new energy transition tech solutions to enhance its product competitiveness, with plans to release four electric models this year.

Dongfeng Nissan will launch pure electric, range extender, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles equipped with its new tech solutions to boost sales this year, the company announced on March 1. The Nissan N7, its first pure electric model with an intelligent driving system co-developed with Beijing-based Momenta Global, will start pre-sales on April 18, it added.

Nissan sales in China, including passenger and light commercial vehicles, tumbled 31 percent to 45,400 units in January from a year earlier, with Dongfeng Nissan selling 43,600 units under the Nissan, Venucia, and Infiniti Motor brands.

In addition, Dongfeng Nissan said it will openly and comprehensively cooperate with tech giants Huawei Technologies and Baidu, Momenta, Alibaba Group's Gaode Map, artificial intelligence technologies developer iFlytek, and other leading Chinese high-tech companies on intelligent driving.

Dongfeng Nissan and Huawei inked a deal last year. The agreement mainly focuses on incorporating the Shenzhen-based firm's car-oriented operating system, Hongmeng OS, with the carmaker's self-developed Nissan OS to create a cockpit ecosystem.
