(Yicai Global) April 4 -- Digital China Group plans to build its artificial intelligence computing infrastructure by teaming up with Huawei Technologies, according to Vice President Han Zhimin.
The enterprise digital services provider will use the Chinese telecom giant’s large AI model PanGu, he told Yicai Global yesterday, without disclosing any specifics of the cooperation.
Earlier rumors that Digital China would cooperate with Huawei in the AI sector drew investors’ attention, with the Beijing-based company’s stock price surging more than 36 percent in the past two weeks. Its shares [SHE: 000034] closed 3.3 percent lower at CNY31.6 (USD4.59) apiece today.
Digital China has partnered with Shenzhen-based Huawei in the cloud business, according to the company’s financial report released yesterday. Thanks to Huawei’s cloud services, Digital China provided digital services for companies in various industries, including finance, manufacturing, and transportation last year.
Tian Qi, Huawei Cloud’s chief AI scientist, will reveal the progress and application of the PanGu model at a forum next week, according to publicly available information. The large natural language processing model in PanGu is considered the one closest to human’s Chinese comprehension ability.
