(Yicai Global) Sept.15 -- Didi Chuxing, the diversified transportation platform of Beijing Orange Technology Co. and China's most popular ride-hailing service, has installed more than 200 smart traffic lights in the country and aims to work with more with municipal transport authorities in the future, state-owned China National Radio quoted the company's senior vice-president Zhang Wensong as saying at the 2017 Intertraffic International Forum on Sept. 14.

The firm launched its first intelligent traffic light, which applies floating vehicle trajectories, earlier this year, and has completed installations in cities including Wuhan, Chengdu, Suzhou, Guiyang and others as it looks to alleviate traffic congestion.

Didi's advancement in traffic lights breaks from traditional traffic-flow information collection and utilizes mobile internet data to optimize street signal adjustments, said Zhang.

Intelligent transportation is a key strategic priority for Didi Chuxing this year, and it has worked with more than 20 cities so far on smart solutions for traffic lights, public buses and traffic reports. The company is also actively cooperating with urban traffic managers to participate in the construction of intelligent cities with Big Data analysis capabilities.
