(Yicai Global) March 5 -- Didi Chuxing, the world's biggest ride-hailing provider, is now offering users the chance to choose a preferred route when selecting certain services to avoid arguments between passengers and drivers.
Beijing Xiaoju Technology, which runs the app, rolled out the feature on its express and select services yesterday, it said in a statement the same day. Riders will be able to choose from up to three routes based on road conditions, distance, trip time and the number of traffic lights to improve the user experience.
Drivers often ask passengers about the route they want to take when they get in the car, and this can sometimes lead to disagreements about the fastest or cheapest trip, the statement added.
The route that riders choose will sync with the driver's in-app navigation system, and if the passenger changes their destination mid trip they will be able to re-select a preferred route.
