(Yicai Global) Nov. 28 -- China's CITIC Group has finished the construction of Beijing's tallest 109-story skyscraper, CITIC Tower, after pouring CNY24 billion (USD3.4 billion) into the project.
The 528-meter-tall CITIC Tower, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, has obtained a final acceptance certificate to be put into operation, Beijing-based CITIC Group said in a statement. The building features an advanced method to stabilize it during earthquakes, it added.
The slim office tower that is inspired by the shape of an ancient Chinese ritual vessel 'zun' is the fourth-tallest building in China. It is located in Beijing's central business district. The state-owned parent started the project in 2013.
Founded in 1979, CITIC engages in various sectors such as finance, manufacturing, and information technology.
