CIIE, National Exhibition Center Host Shanghai Matchmaking Session CIIE, National Exhibition Center Host Shanghai Matchmaking Session

(Yicai Global) Aug. 30 -- The China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center jointly hosted an exhibitor-buyer matchmaking session in Shanghai today, organized by the Lujiazui Administration Bureau of Shanghai's Free Trade Zone, in preparation for the second CIIE in November.

Lujiazui has been preparing for the CIIE by setting up a special working team with the CIIE Bureau and is stepping up publicity and business project launches. Lujiazui is also helping to recruit participants to the Hongqiao Forum, one of the CIIE's forums, to tempt more business that can promote its own development.

Organizing today's gathering was important for Lujiazui, helping attract service sector merchants, while Lujiazui's financial strength will also meet the demands of the third CIIE. The CIIE Bureau wants to lure a greater number of financial companies next year. It will also help to promote the Lujiazui Financial City brand and boost the area's potential to attract more projects.

At the meeting, a representative from US commercial real estate services and investment firm CBRE Group shared his insights on Shanghai's foreign investment. The city is China's most active for such investment, and its continuous opening-up will also spur demand for office buildings, a boom for developers, Xie Chen, head of research at the firm, told Yicai Global.
