(Yicai Global) Sept. 13 -- Chongqing Institute of Graphene introduced graphene polymer compound artificial skin at the 2017 Investment Project and Achievements Conference. The company claimed that artificial skin has entered clinical trials and is expected to be put into application soon.

The artificial skin is jointly developed by researchers in Chongqing Institute of Graphene, Sichuan University and Third Military Medical University. The institute said that the team is the first one to conduct research on graphene artificial skin in the world, developing a new field of graphene's application, the Chongqing Morning Post reported today.

Graphene artificial skin has powerful functions including antibiosis, anti-inflammatory and self-cleaning, said Wang Wei, general manager of the company. It can improve gas exchanges and accelerate wound healing through regulating the internal structure of compound materials, Wang added.

At present, the artificial skin has entered clinical trial and can be put into application soon, laying the foundation for developing real products to replace human skin, Wang suggested.

Chongqing Institute of Graphene also signed investment projects on graphene flexible mobile phones, smart watches and transparent keyboards. Flexible phones and smart watches are expected to come into the markets by the end of 2017.
