(Yicai Global) May 28 -- China's mainland stock markets began the morning mixed after closing higher yesterday, as investors chose a more cautious approach to a new day. 

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.7 percent lower at 2,890.27 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index started off at 8,979.58 points, almost unchanged from yesterday's close. The ChiNext, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, opened 0.4 percent higher at 1,497.12 points.
