(Yicai Global) Jan. 29 -- China's stock markets edged down this morning after a lackluster performance in the US and European markets overnight.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened down 0.18 percent at 2,592.35 points while the Shenzhen Component Index was down 0.19 percent at 7,575.43. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, was flat at 1,259.80 points.
Economic concern dragged down major European and US bourses overnight. US stocks fell as several major firms such as Caterpillar and Nvidia posted disappointing business data, many of which cited weaknesses in the Chinese market as a key factor.
