(Yicai Global) May 13 -- China's mainland stock markets started off the day by declining. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.9 percent to 2,905.07, and the Shenzhen Composite Index decreased 0.75 percent to 9,112.52. The ChiNext Index dropped 0.9 percent to 1513.96.

Utilities businesses and free trade port sectors averted the dip, while securities and banking firms were among the biggest losers.
