(Yicai Global) May 16 -- China's mainland stock markets descended this morning despite strong support from agricultural companies that extended their rallies from yesterday.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.2 percent lower at 2,933.50. The Shenzhen Composite Index shed 0.1 percent to 9,247.99. The ChiNext opened unchanged at 1,528.63.
Agricultural firms, including corn processors and soybean farmers, remained victorious amid the declines, while textile dye companies suffered the biggest drops.
