(Yicai  Global) Aug. 23 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland moved up this morning, with the large-cap heavy Shanghai benchmark leading the way.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed for lunch 0.48 percent higher at 2,897.14, while the Shenzhen Component Index was up 0.11 percent at 9,360.85. The ChiNext Price  Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, ended the morning up 0.16 percent at 1,616.12.
