Chinese Stocks Edged Up at Opening as Gold Shares Gain

(Yicai Global) June 20 -- China's stock markets opened slightly higher , and gold shares performed better than peers due to a five-year high in prices. 

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.02 percent higher at 2,917.33,  while the Shenzhen Component Index was 0.02 percent lower at 8,923.57 and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, opened 0.01 percent lower at 1,469.81.
