(Yicai Global) March 27 -- Shanghai's stock market retreated from earlier highs in the afternoon but investor sentiments in Shenzhen were still more subdued.

The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.26 percent to 2,772.20 by the closing bell. The Shenzhen Component Index finished 0.45 percent lower at 10,109.91. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, was down 1.21 percent at 1,903.88.
