(Yicai Global) Aug. 14 -- China's stock markets ended higher, still giving up some of their earlier gains in the afternoon. Gold-related shares dropped.
The Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.4 percent to 2,808.91. The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 0.7 percent to 8,966.47. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, advanced 0.8 percent to 1,536.66.
Gold equities decreased 2.7 percent today after the price of the precious metal pushed past a six-year high yesterday.
