(Yicai Global) Jan. 3 -- China's energy generation behemoth State Power Investment and rolling stock giant CRRC have assembled their first jointly developed hydrogen bus which can go as far as 600 kilometers before refueling.
SPIC's and CRRC's fuel cell bus rolled off the production line in Zhejiang province's Ningbo, The Paper reported. The 12-meter vehicle takes 15 minutes to refuel and is three times more energy-efficient than diesel and gasoline vehicles.
China has been promoting the clean-burning fuel to protect its environment and Ningbo has become a hub of that industry. By 2025, Ningbo is planning to build from 20 to 25 hydrogen refueling stations for a target of 1,500 vehicles using them.
The parties will take advantage of Ningbo's hydrogen storage advantages and make buses that have commercial value to promote the development of the sector, the report added.
