(Yicai) July 2 -- Chinese electric vehicle startups Nio, Zeekr, and Leapmotor reported record high sales for last month.

Nio’s deliveries nearly doubled to 21,200 cars in June from a year earlier, Leapmotor’s jumped 52 percent to 20,116, and Zeekr’s surged 89 percent to 20,100, each company’s sales figures showed.

Shanghai-based Nio sold 57,400 autos in the second quarter of this year, a 144 percent increase from a year ago. It sold 87,400 in the six months ended June 30, up 60 percent, with its total deliveries reaching 537,000.

Zeekr’s sales soared 106 percent to 87,900 cars from January to June, taking the Hangzhou-based company’s cumulative deliveries to more than 280,000.

Li Auto sold 47,800 units in June and 108,600 in the second quarter, up 47 percent and 26 percent. The Beijing-based company has delivered a total of 822,300 cars, ranking it first among Chinese auto startups.

XPeng Motors sold 10,700 cars last month and a total of 52,000 in the first six months of this year, up 24 percent and 26 percent.

Voyah, the high-end EV brand of state-owned Dongfeng Motor Group, sold 5,507 in June, an 83 percent surge, while sales more than doubled to 30,000 in the first half.

Xiaomi Automobile sold more than 10,000 SU7s in June, with the Chinese smartphone giant's EV unit noting that shipments will exceed 10,000 units again this month.

Seres Group’s sales surged 372 percent to 44,100 NEVs in June from a year ago, the car-making partner of Chinese telecom equipment giant Huawei Technologies announced yesterday. 

BYD sold 341,700 units last month and over 1.61 million in the first half, both figures jumping 28 percent from a year earlier.

Geely Automobile’s sales rose 24 percent to 166,100 in June. The Hangzhou-based firm raised its annual sales target to 2 million units from 1.9 million.
