Chinese Shares Closed Down on Economic Data Miss Expectations

(Yicai Global) Dec. 14 - China's A shares closed lower on Friday as the latest economic data lower than expectations.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,593.74 points, down 1.53 percent, with a turnover of CNY123.7 billion (USD17.98 billion).
The Shenzhen Composite Index fell 2.28 percent to 7,629.65 points with CNY168.2 billion exchanged.

The ChiNext Price Index closed at 1,310.46 points, down 2.82 percent with CNY51.4 billion exchanged.

The growth of industrial production slowed down and mid-and high-end industries showed good momentum of growth.
The real growth of the total value added of the industrial enterprises above designated size was 5.4 percent year-on-year,
0.5 percentage points lower than last month, according to data released today.

In November, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 3.54 trillion yuan, up 8.1 percent compared with the same
period last year, 0.5 percentage points slower than last month.

The national economy maintained generally stable momentum and performed within the reasonable range as intensified efforts have
been made in areas like investment, trade, supply-side structural reform and employment, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
