(Yicai Global) Oct. 10 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened mixed this morning, with the small-cap growth stocks attract most interest from investors.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.04 percent lower at 2,923.71, while the Shenzhen Component Index started down 0.03 percent at 9,504.03. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, began the day 0.60 percent stronger at 1,632.22.
