(Yicai Global) Oct. 15 -- Chinese mainland shares moved lower in morning trading as investors became leery over newly released economic data.

The Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.53 percent to 2,991.90 going into the lunch break, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished up 1.00 percent weaker at 9,688.51. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, closed down 0.81 percent at 1,665.84.

China's consumer prices rose 3.0 percent last month over the same period a year ago, according to data the country's National Bureau of Statistics published today. The higher inflationary pressure may force the hands of regulators managing the nation's monetary policy.
