(Yicai Global) Sept. 12 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened up this morning as semiconductor shares led gains with an industry-wide rise of 1 percent on average.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 3,016.63 points, up 0.26 percent. The Shenzhen Component Index started 0.33 percent higher at 9,886.25 and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, began 0.59 percent up at 1,713.59.
