Chinese Mainland Stock Markets Start Mixed, Slump Together

(Yicai Global) March 13 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland began mixed today before falling in unison, with the ChiNext Price Index falling 2.75 percent to wipe out yesterday's gains.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.07 percent higher at 3,062.33 but was down 1 percent as of 10.32 a.m., while the Shenzhen Component Index, which started down 0.13 percent at 9,828.15, had fallen 1.66 percent as of the same time.

The ChiNext Price Index begun 0.22 percent lower at 1,769.55 after jumping more than 2.7 percent in trading yesterday.

Aviation stocks were the biggest gainers, climbing 2.2 percent on average, with real estate companies also rising about 2 percent.
