(Yicai Global) June 23 -- Chinese health authority said today that it received reports of 22 new confirmed Covid-19 cases yesterday, of which 13 were domestically transmitted and nine were imported.
All the domestically transmitted cases were reported in Beijing, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.
Of the imported cases, seven were reported in Gansu province, one in Jiangsu province and one in Shaanxi province, according to the commission.
No deaths were reported yesterday on the mainland, while two new suspected domestically transmitted cases were reported in Beijing.
As of yesterday, the mainland had reported a total of 1,885 imported cases. Of the cases, 1,798 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery and 87 were being treated, the commission said.
The commission said 12 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery yesterday while the number of severe cases increased by one to 13.
The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 83,418 by yesterday, including 359 patients who were still being treated, 78,425 people who had been discharged after recovery, and 4,634 people who died of the disease.
The commission said 15 people were still suspected of being infected with the virus.
It added that 7,591 close contacts were still under medical observation while 328 people were discharged from medical observation yesterday.
Also yesterday, seven new asymptomatic cases, including five from abroad, were reported on the mainland. The commission said 99 suspected asymptomatic cases, including 59 from overseas, were still under medical observation.
By the end of yesterday, 1,161 confirmed cases had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including five deaths), 45 in the Macau Special Administrative Region and 446 in Taiwan (including seven deaths).
A total of 1,078 patients in Hong Kong, 45 in Macau and 435 in Taiwan have been discharged from hospital after recovery.
