(Yicai) Feb. 26 -- Wanglaoji Health Industry, a leading Chinese herbal tea brand, has partnered with Saudi Arabian logistics service provider Aiduk to enter the Middle Eastern market.
Wanglaoji and Aiduk's Hong Kong-based subsidiary Aiduk International signed a deal to jointly bring herbal tea products under the Walovi brand to Middle Eastern supermarket chains, convenience stores, and restaurants within one month, the Guangzhou-based company announced yesterday.
Walovi has already unveiled its Arabic language version that will appear on the products sold in the Middle East.
Wanglaoji's sales in the Middle East were relatively scattered and mostly limited to the local Chinese communities, the nearly 200-year-old company told Yicai earlier.
Saudi Arabia is an important economy in the Middle East, with a population of more than 36 million, including about 300,000 Chinese people. The country has a per capita gross domestic product of nearly USD30,000.
As one of the most important markets in Wanglaoji's internationalization strategy, Saudi Arabia has a large consumer group, strong purchasing power, great geographical advantages, and market radiation ability, the company noted.
Wanglaoji has been making great efforts to explore overseas markets and new growth points in recent years. It has entered more than 100 countries and regions and is available for purchase in overseas supermarket chains Costco and H Mart and global e-commerce platforms Amazon, Yami, and Weee!
